On the final day of the event they held a KiteLoop contest, unfortunately it was not super windy for the huge MegaLoops and unhooking but it was enough to get the odd biggie on a 9m.
As it was only windy for 9m it was very 50-50 if the kite would catch you on the way down, I had some horrific drop outs and wipe outs and also saw some INSANE crashes.
Allow it wasn’t perfect conditions it did make for a good show and the spectators loved it.
I managed to hit a big gust in the finals, I went for the loop and then got spun into a front spin on the way down, thats the one that won it for me.
Now I am in Germany after a harsh journey, I got delayed out of Madrid and never got my board bag. Luckily my mate Lewis was picking me up and driving us here to St. Peter Ording. I got to stop at home on the on the way and pick up some other kit so I should be alright for the event.
Today was the trials so the singles will be up tomorrow if there is wind.

After ending up 3rd in the single elimination I was pretty gutted, I was hoping to finish higher in this event so I was pretty amped for the doubles.
I was knocked out against Yuri in the singles with a 4-1 decision his way, i though that was pretty harsh but he is riding well at the moment and I guess that’s the way it goes sometimes.
I had one day of rest and today was my chance to come back, first off I came up against Cesar Portas to keep 3rd, then it was another heat against Yuri, this time around the wind was lighter, I was on a 9 but well powered.
I had a good heat and managed to do enough to challenge Kevin for 1st, in the doubles you have to beat the single elimination winner twice, so going into the 1st heat with him, I had to give it my all.
I started off with some harder tricks, I landed a Front Mobe – Blind first and then went into a bunch of comp passes plus some switch and a Double-S/Whirly type trick to blind. That was enough to get me to the next heat where I could take 1st.
In the next heat it was a pretty similar routine with similar tricks, during the doubles I was just going for the amplitude as this seems to be the category that matters most at the moment. 
Unfortunately my tricks were not totally representing the way I want to push my riding, I had to travel further in my tricks, which leads to putting the kite a bit higher, my free riding is becoming much different with different tricks now but I am stoked I was able to do what I had to do to win the event.
This was a pretty important event for me and I am well happy that I came back to win.

My mate Neal was off to Portugal for the summer and seen as I had nothing to do back home I thought I would take a gamble and cruise with him for his first week there.
So far we have had wind everyday and the place in general is well good fun, there are some good kite spots and cool people about.
Neal has been out for a week or so through injury so he has been on the cam for both video and stills, we already have some good stuff so I should be able to get something out once I get back home.

Over the weekend I headed over to Le Touquet in the North of France, Ruben and Lewis were heading over for ‘the slingshot party’ so I thought I would cruise along to the kite event for a bit of fun.
There was no wind but it was a good event, there were lots of people, good music and a nice atmosphere, we ended up chilling and playing a lot of beach football.
Now I am back home for a few hot summer days down the beach and green making my next plan.

The last few days have been pretty fun, we have had some good wind out East for some Megaloops and was able to ride some flat water for a freestyle session. I also got to hit the new Fun box, the wind was a bit gusty but I still enjoyed it, cheers to all who helped out in getting them ready.
Today was our last day, a group of us took a trip to mount hood for the morning, it was well good fun to snowboard again, unfortunately I face planted a slider and took a few stitches to the chin, but up until then it was good, they had some good rails and runs.
Shame we have to leave but now it’s time to cruise to the airport and go home.
