Yesterday was the best trick contest, the criteria was 50% height and 50% technical difficulty.
I managed to get to the final, I was in it with Tom, Max (another local) and Mark Jacobs, I’m not sure which trick won it for me but it was good fun, i did a big Front mobe - blind, the sent front spin pass and even through a double front board off, I can’t even remember the last time I took the board off my feet but I though I would give it a go as everyone else was.
Here are few more pictures from the event.
Yesterday was the double elimination of the freestyle competition here in New Caledonia.
The wind was light but I was OK on my 13m, I came up against Seb Garet in the final but only had to go once as I had a pretty good heat, because of the flat water all my tricks were full speed and I managed to hold some little grabs in there too, I got a lot of switch, a Front Mobe - Blind and a Double S pass.
Tom also came up to 3rd which was good, so I’m happy we are both up there on the podium.
This place is amazing, the last few days have been great kiting, the spot for the competition is perfect flat water with smooth wind which allows you to go full belt into tricks.
Yesterday they ran the singles and I had a great day, it’s so nice to have good conditions for a competition, your level is so much higher, I had some sick tricks through out my heats never needing to hold back.
I won the singles and had a good day of riding and hanging out with the locals, I’m sure we will get a lot more wind so I can’t wait for the doubles, best trick and KiteLoop comp
Since Chile I have been back in the UK, I stayed down on the South coast and over last weekend there was the BKSA British Final. I had a few good sessions, some days had some belting wind and kickers and over the event the conditions were rough like that too.
It was good to come down and see the competition, it was my first one this year so was good to see and catch up with everyone again.
This year the British winner would be decided at the last event like the PKRA, Lewis had an amazing final and took home the title for the 3rd time. A couple of days after that I had a good session with all the guys then I was off to New Caledonia.
It’s only my first day today so we will see how it goes, there is a competition starting in a couple of days and it looks amazing, I cant wait to go for a kite.
