KBO & KP’s

Last weekend I was in Holland with Ruben for the KiteBoard Open, unfortunately there was no wind but it was cool to just hang out and catch up with him, the weather was amazing and the beach was packed, the party was cool so the event turned out pretty good.
On Tuesday Ruben and I head to the KitePunk’s in La Manga which is near Murcia, Spain, we arrived in the afternoon but not much was going on, there was no wind. We just chilled and check out the sliders and waited for the session the next day.

The next day the conditions were better apparently, I got concussed late afternoon and have totally forgot the whole day and part of the day before, I ended up in hospital with no recollection of what happened, pretty crazy.
Apparently I was on my 13 and had a couple of sessions, at first it was a bit light but then we went back out once it picked up, they said my crash was off the kicker and I just got slammed on the landing, must of hit pretty hard.

Yesterday there was no wind a few guys took the ski out and hit the obstacles but I took it easy most of the day.
The obstacles look pretty sick, this year we have the flat bar, whale, kicker, wall ride and a new fun box.
Hopefully we get some more wind soon.

1st GET IN !!!

Sunday, May 4th, 2008

Today was the final of the doubles, in the first heat up against Kevin I had the harshest deals dealt to me that I have had in a while, first tack on my warm up 10 mins before my heat a line snapped or came loose on a transitions way out back, I had to rush back take an 11 which left me super underpowered, in the heat I ended up down wind, half way through my leash go stuck and sent me flying out the area with my kite looping out of control, that hasn’t happened for about a year.
I lost the heat.

After that I came back in and sorted out my 13, thanks to rest of the Brits and a few others it was pumped up and ready, all I had to do is switch lines, I had about 5 mins to relax and then I was straight back into the heat for my final chance to win.
I had a blinder, front mobe - blind heat entree straight to switch front mobe. I continued to have a great one, 5 switch, most thing regular, back mobe - wrapped, double S-bend - blind and ended on the buzzer with switchard raily blindside.
Was pretty sure I had done it coming into the beach, sure enough 10 mins ltr it was announced on stage.

Time to party!!!!

Yesterday they finished the singles here in El Yaque, (sorry it wasn’t up sooner but the internet has just come back on in the town) by the time it kicked off it was 9m weather and that was what I stuck with throughout the day.
I came up against Tom Hebert a friend from New Cal, Cesar Portas then in the final Kevin once again.

The final was pretty intense, the level went insane, neither of us would give in until the end, I got quite a lot of stuff, the best being, powered switch Slim, Back - Blind AP and Front Mobe, back mobe-wrapped and front mobe-blind, which wasn’t that powered but were need in the heat, my heat ender was a Blind Judge 5 AP which was powered, I put everything into it as I had just seen Kevin land a KL 7, i added quite a few grabs and tried to keep things smooth I think that along with power and tech diff pulled me through to 1st.

Pretty stoked with the result I have won 3x out of 3 here in VENEZ, so lets hope i can keep it in the doubles and make it 4.

Coche

Thursday, May 1st, 2008

The first day of the event was held in Coche Island, off Margarita. The place is amazing, the fattest water. Today the wind was good for an 11, I waited around most of the day and only ended up doing 1 heat, I had a by through to second round and that was where it ended.

I had a average heat, I’m taking it a bit easy at the moment as my knee is a bit saw, I did some decent tricks but realize they could have been more powered, I ended the heat with a Blind Judge 5 with an airpass which was powered and landed it pretty good, so I was happy with that.

I’m pretty confident with my riding and body for the coming days, which will be held here in El Yaque, so lets see how it goes.
