I have been in Cape town for a few days now and so far it has been pretty good, I am finally settling back into being here although I’ll be back off again in a couple of weeks.
So far I have kited Big Bay quite a bit and also tripped up to Langabaan and the Cable. Big Bay has shown its usual form of MegaLoop winds, it has been getting to the point where its hard to hold an edge!!! Today I messed up a MegaLoop to un-hook handle pass and ended up about 8m over my Kite as it skimmed the water, it has brought back hope of the en-do KL (where the kite goes WAY WAY below you) which still hasn’t been made as far as I know, but it also ended in a front flip 8m free fall over my lines which sort of puts me back off it at the same time.
Anyways here is a short movie from the other day, you can also see the higher res and download it here.
Here’s a short movie of me at the Cable, I have been fully into it for about 8 months or so now, I find it helps kiting but to be honest I do it for fun, having such a steep learning curve again has been sick, I love learning this stuff and kickers and sliders whilst wake-boarding is insane fun.
These sessions are from Thorp and Princes in the UK and also the one here in Cape town.
Let me know what you think.
Cheers, Aaron

The first comp of the year has turned out to be a great one, after yesterday I was pretty disappointed with the result but today I managed to pull it back and take the win.
First off I came up against Portas and had a pretty good heat to have a second chance at Kevin in the double elimination.
The wind had started to drop right before the heat, I saw Kev switch to a bigger kite which someone had in the air ready for him to take, I new I didn’t have time to switch line to my 13 so I just stuck with it and believed in my 11, it pulled me through, although having a bit less power than usual I managed to stay up wind by tacking out the back where there was less current, I got enough tricks in to pull through to the final final against Kevin again.
In this heat I was able to have my 13 ready in time, the wind was still dropping but at first I had enough power to pull through a good few tricks, up wind 2 tacks with combos helped me out for the start, by the end we were both downwind struggling and having to run up wind but throughout the heat I had done enough to take the win.
Today was the single elimination of the first event of the season.
I had a great day and was stoked with my riding.
I got to the final to face Kevin and thought I had a blinder, I came off the beach so happy and though I had it in the bag, I got loads of moves, combos on the first few runs with a couple of tricks on each tack, got a KL 5, a few grabs - blind and wrapped with pop-outs, a couple of switch moves, also had a front mobe - blind and at the end a back mobe - wrapped with a pop-out and blind-judge 3 grab into KL HP which was practically the only thing I didn’t land.
Unfortunately I ended up in 2nd, it was a huge let down after thinking I had really won, most times I saw Kev he didn’t land clean or crashed but maybe I didn’t see some of the other stuff.
I guess that’s how it goes, Hopefully I can pull through in the doubles.
