Brazil

Sorry that I fell off the face of the earth for a while I have been in the North of Brazil with hardly any Internet.
I’m in a bit of a rush but to let you know quick I was up in Sao Luis for a RedBull competition that was all about endurance. I ended up in second behind Ruben. I started about 40 seconds behind him and ended up abut 15-20 behind him by the end, I got a couple of harsh deals, I dropped my kite and tripped an edge on the way which was a shame cause it would have been fun to have had a closer finish with him. It was still loads of fun though, we had to ride about 8km, then run over dunes for 3-4km, then kite another 8 or so. It was well harsh and difficult but it was great fun.
After that we ended up taking a 4×4 to the PKRA competition that was South of the event we were just at.
The conditions there were better than any other Brazil event in the past, mainly cause there was loads of wind, I ended using my 7 most of the time.
In the singles I had a pretty epic day, I was well confident with my riding and had fun getting to the finals, I came up against Kevin and had a decent heat, I went for it as hard as possible but got harsh deals on some landings, The highlight was a KiteLoop grab 5, KiteLoop Bosch Mobe and a proper Front-Mobe 7-Heal-side, these were the moves that wasn’t landed so well allow I managed a load of other powered tricks. I though it was a really close heat but the judges seemed to reward quantity over risk factor which gave Kevin the win.
In the doubles I came straight up against Alex Pastor who had come up through the double. I had a great heat. I started off with some passes-wrapped and blind with kite a bit higher, just to prove that it’s not so difficult, then moved on to some harder more powered, tweaked moves, which is more my style of riding at the minute and what I think looks way better. I got a powered switch KGB, nailed all my moves super fast and powered and also went for a Whirly 3 although that wasn’t quite landed.
I was well please with myself and was pretty sure I had made it through, every time I looked around at the other guy I saw that he had crashed or butt-checked, but I guess I missed a few of his moves.
Unfortunately the judges gave a 4-1 decision against me, which was hard to believe, they said he done a couple of double passes although I thought his kite was really high.
I guess that’s just the way it goes some time, hopefully I’ll get some better luck in Chile.
Will let you know. Ltr.

Look man! You are number one to me!
But you must promote yourself more than you do!
Make some video clips to show your level-style-technique-smooth riding!
    Filios/Cyprus.

Hi Aaron, hard to believe, that´s the way it goes some time.

you know whos the best!!! people dont want to see you win anymore, its always the way when your at the top all people want is to see you fail. but keep it real and you will charge in chile, if not go take kiting to a new level in freestlye wave riding.

    You are the best man!!

  5. Keith Harsh-side Says:

Hi Filios you should promote yourself more ive never heard of you.

Anyway I see the harsh deals in the waves when you landed. Ignore the mile high club let them do there thing and they will be fucked in a few years when its decided that high kite angles are disqualified.

Just to let you know Filos that the new Progression Pro DVD will be released soon. This DVD features Aaron doing what he does best . . . with some excellent slow motion footage which will enable you to really see what he is doing up there.

    Regards

aaron you have to win 2007 pkra,Kevin is always with kite high, this kiteboarding not flysurfing, when need hard technical and powered tricks that you do,when i go kite and try to imite you,you have the best style in the pkra, dont worry in chile you are going to win.powered s-mobe is better than doble hp with the kite in zenit.

    Thanks, That’s great to hear!
As for promotion, I haven’t been online for a while but I have been filming a bit so I will try to get some movie out soon, probably along with Ruben.
    Cheers for the support.
    Aaron.

I think they need to change the format man.
7 min heats dont showcase the sport

5 legit killer moves performed with flow and style should smoke 15 kite high spinny passes every time.
I showed a non kiting friend one of the pkra vids and he thught the whole thimg pretty much sucked. then I showed him the one of you cats in tarifa laying it down. he was like WoW WTF?
kick some ass in chile man!!!
    good luck, Dave

Aaron, you are not for nothing the 3 times world champion……I saw you making a 5 fold kiteloop jump in Tarifa……..you are one of the real aces……..so dont worry about being third in Brazil…..we all know that in the interest of the press for championship and his event sponsors it would be nicer that the worldchampion (you, no doubt, unless you hurt yourself; please dont) is crowned on the last event……..furthermore it is a guarantee everybody (riders, press, etc) is coming to Chili, where the ski resorts are still open….

  12. Filios Says:

    Keith Harsh!
What i meant was that Ruben Lenten even if his not 3 times world champion his more famous than Hadlow even though Aaron in more technical. And why is that? Due to the marketing that ruben does!
    So keep it up Hadlow!
Hope all the best and that you always invent new miracle tricks…..!!

  13. Spence Says:
