6th place! Bad result!
The event brought good wind but it was harsh conditions, the chop was the biggest I had seen all week but the good winds made up for it.
In the first round I got knocked out by a local rider, I think I got harsh deal, everyone I spoke to thought I had gone through and every time I looked at him during my heat I saw him in the water off his leash or going for his board. But anyways that’s the way it goes sometime and you have to deal with it, close decisions can always go either way.
In the doubles I had a hard job to do, I counted 9 heats from the beginning.
I did OK it was split into 2 day, the first was strong winds and I had some amazing heats, on the last couple I took my 7 and managed some good moves and even got a MegaLoop – Flat3 and 5.
The next day the wind was lighter, I took my 9, I started to make my way through the heats, I was kiting well and was confident I could make it to the finals, I came up against Rui about 3 heats in and for some reason just lost the plot, I did OK, but it wasn’t enough, it was really weird, but I learnt a lot from it. I was really pissed off with myself but that’s also the way it goes sometimes, I just have to do better at the next one, Tarifa is forecasted good wind so I’m looking forward to that.
Also I’m at the airport and just stayed here, it was amazing, what a place. This is going to make travelling so much easier.
Ohh and also check out this video that I found, it is from Egypt in August 2005, it never got released so I though I would share it. It’s actually not that bad ?
Anyways, sorry about not updating throughout the last event, I will let you know how Tarifa turns out in the next few days.
