The Boschmosis
To finally clarify what a Boschmosis is, here are a couple of clips that will explain everything.
Lewis Crathern came up with this move a few days before the PKRA in Austria, 29th April 2007, it was instantly named the Boschmosis as soon as the name arose.
It was attempted in heats by Lewis but never completed, it was only until after the event when I landed my first one.
It was first completed in competition in England during the second round of the BKSA, Lewis nailed it in his 2nd heat.
Our mission then took us on to the perfect flat waters of Egypt where I landed the first Wrapped Boschmosis ever to be done.
The standard then escaladed to another level until on the 25th May 2007 it was done to ultimate risk, not wearing a leash, as seen on Video.
5 days later The Boschmosis and Wrapped Boschmosis was landed in PKRA competition where I pulled them out in my second round and finals.
that looks sweet, i guess it opens up a whole new window of tricks.
have you got some kind of weight on the bar? it just looks like the depower strap dangles a lot.
is it slack because of the pop or downwind angle and speed?
oh yeh, what is a NOB (Nuclear Olay to Blind)? are you olaying forwards fluidy into blind or backwards and then countering the rotation.

true but so what ? I just think that those surface pass are kinda nasty compared to an actual osmosis air pass… It’s pretty much like langeree one hand stuffs…. WTF ??? It’s really crappy to me.
I prefer so much a nice regular s-bend, rather than a one hand sketchy nose grab kgb wrapped-mosis…. And though the guy who will do it will win pkra… sad.
But that doesn’t mean I don’t like aaron style. He really rocks. But just avoid this kind of sketchy extra stuff, which will score in comp., but what for ???
Hi Ben, These Osmosis passes are you the only one doing them in kitesurfing? Ive not seen one yet which is why its very important that we have got to the surface stage. The next evolvment is the air.
I think maybe you are having problems with the more technical tricks as its not actually possible to land wrapped on a kgb.
A boschmosis is in no way like any other move as you are passing the hand to the same hand again not just letting go for a split second. Aaron gives the courtesy of putting the move in slow mo for people such as yourself maybe watch again.
As for your comments on “sketchy stuff” Innovation is what is being judged. Its important to be moving kitesurfing forward not backwards like your back rolls.

Thanks, yeah it the start of something epic.
No there is no weight on my bar and it just goes slack because the kite is low and it is landed with speed going towards the kite.
Also the NOB is the fluid movement you were talking about, although I have considered trying it the other way.

I know the real Osmosis is in the air, thats the reason I changed the name a bit.
Like Bobby said, this is only the beginning, you have to start somewhere to evolve on to somewhere else.
Right now I am giving the next level a go, it’s the only way forward.
I also agree on some of your points, and I’m also trying to avoid the “Sketchy Stuff” thats not what I want to bring to kiting.
But I do want to bring inovation and make it look stylish.
Also if you look at the video and forget the Boschmosis it is only a Raily and S-Bend - Blind.

I kinda agree with tyler, though I think maybe he’s a little bit gay himself…
In the beginning was the board off. That was cool and kind of hardcore. even stylish actually. And then people started adding some side stuffs to their board off, like letting it go for a sec, or flipping it or whatever. The goal was not the style of it, but to score in comp… and then all these board off tricks became nasty. And they are the reason why wakeboarders, skaters and snowboarders think we are gay. It’s because it became sketchy !!! But look, it can be stylish: flips are what skateboarders do and a 360flip is awesome… It’s just what people make out of it: style or comp ???
By the way I’m injured right now, but I just thought of a new board off trick: unhooked kiteloop benihana….. Crap I’m gonna try this as soon as I get back on the water
