KiteWorld Countdown and Riding

Friday, April 13th, 2007

Together with Kiteworld I am putting together a series or short clips that explain and show you some of the tricks that helped me to win the 2006 PKRA World Championship.
For the next couple of weeks we are going to release a new video everyday, check out KITEWORLD.COM.
The aim is to help some of you, if you don’t know already, to understand the difference between all the different handle passes.

The other day I was over in Coche, I had a sick day, I landed another super clean Mobe7 but also landed a Slim Chance 7 for the 2nd time in my life, I was stoked and I think I have finally got it down for the future now. So that was epic.
There are also a few pic’s below. These were taken by Andy Magin, a guy from England that I met on the beach the other day. Thanks man.

Yesterday Ruben and another friend, Tom Hebert from New Caledonia, arrived so now we are all staying together here in EL Yaque Club, the pimpest place in the area, so that’s cool and well chilled out. (more…)

Coche and more

Wednesday, April 11th, 2007

This morning I was chilling just waiting for the wind to pick up, I just wanted to check that my website was at the top of the google search engine, so I punched in Aaron Hadlow, and yes it was, but I also found these interesting links I had never seen before.
For one I thought it was pretty cool to have a interview on the Guardian website, this is a massive news paper in the UK, I remember doing the interview but never saw anything of it, so here it is, The Guardian.
But the best thing about my search on the web was finding out I was listed on a
Encyclopedia, check it out, I thought that was pretty cool for some reason, so I thought I would share it with you.
Anyways the wind did pick up as usual and I headed over to Coche, the wind and weather was a bit weird today but I had a pretty good session nonetheless. For a while now I have had a bit of a mental block on Mobe 7’s, I have done so many in the past but lately I just could not land one. Until today. Yes, I finally did it, it was great, I suck it clean and it was perfect. I also landed a ‘Slim Chance – wrapped’ that was pretty powered, so that really made my day, they are pretty rare at the moment and also one of the latest trick I have been working on, so I was stoked coming off the water :)

Another Day

Monday, April 9th, 2007

Today I had an epic day.
Again I took the boat over to Coche, which is the small island off El Yaque with the most perfect conditions.
I was over there early and out by about 10, I got to ride my 12 first of all and that was sweet.
I am currently riding prototype C- Kites and this year they are sick, I am really happy with them, they are quite different to the fusion2 but are a lot more user friendly, much lighter and quicker steering and great for kite loops.
Anyways that was fun this morning, I landed a super clean KGB - Blind that was super powered, and also I got most of my switch moves down.
Switch is basically the same move but on your opposite tack, I do a mobe with my left leg forward, so a switch mobe would be with my right foot forward, it sounds pretty simple but it take a while to get them right.
So, anyway, in the afternoon the wind really picked up, I got to take my 7m. I was well excited as I hadn’t used that kite since I was in South Africa. So once it was windy enough I rushed out and had a major kite loop session. (more…)

Venezuela

Monday, April 9th, 2007

Sorry I don’t have any exciting pictures to post up from here in Venezuela. I am working on organizing some photo shoot and video sessions later this week though.
I thought I’d just let you know what’s going on anyways.
Today was my second full day on the island. So far it has been really good.
I have been riding my 12 both days, and this evening I was able to take my 9 for a second session. I got to do some big Kite loops and some super powered handle passes. That was well fun!
For the time I’m here in El Yaque I’m staying in El Yaque Club, which is an hotel at the end of the town. To me, it’s probably the best place in the area. If you’re ever in the town it is definately worth checking out. It’s a nice place to relax and chill out. Ruben Len10 is also arriving here soon, so that will be fun.
Anyways today I got to land a few of my latest moves that I’ve been working on during the winter. That was great, I’m really getting into competition mode at the moment and feeling good for the event.
Looking forward to it.
Right, so I’ll let you know how the next few days pan out.
